Daily schedule
Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities.
Indoor Play & Activities
8:30 – 9:15 am (Before Care)
After being greeted in the morning, children are provided with a variety of simple activities that encourage learning in all areas of development.
Outside Adventures
9:15 – 10:00 am
Children participate in active play outdoors on the playground and in a natural environment with open-ended loose materials.
Combined Morning Snack Outside
10:00 – 10:15 am
Our school family enjoys sharing a well balanced and healthy snack outside together around the log circle. Snack provided by EKP.
Morning Meeting
10:15 – 10:30 am
Morning meeting is a time to greet everyone and start our day. Activities at morning meeting include the feelings circle, morning greetings and rituals, a story, music/movement, and the presentation of work provided today.
Educational Block
10:30 – 11:30 am
Children move throughout the classroom choosing open-ended work on the work shelves, participating in themed table work activities, creating process art, or working with a teacher in a small group.
Outside Adventures
11:30 am – 12:00 pm
Children participate in active play outdoors on the playground in a natural learning environment with open-ended loose parts.
Lunch Break
12:00 – 12:45 pm
Children will wash off and participate in serving and cleaning up their packed lunches. Lunch starts with a moment of reflection to give thanks for the meal we share and discussion with our teachers and friends as we eat together. The classroom lighting is low and the atmosphere encourages a calm mind and body.
Quiet Time
12:45 – 2:45 pm
Children take time to rest or sleep to give their bodies and minds a chance to slow down and re-power after an exciting day of fun and learning.
Core Program Pickup
2:45 – 3:00 pm
Snack Time
3:00 – 3:15 pm
Snacks are nutritious and delicious meeting the needs of a child’s body and mind for a productive and active day. Snack provided by EKP.
Indoor Play Activities
3:15 – 3:30 pm
While students wake up, go potty, and settle in to the afternoon, they are provided with non-stimulating quiet activities.
Outdoor Adventures
3:30 – 4:30 pm
Children participate in active play outdoors on the playground in a natural learning environment.
