We are here to guide children in discovering their natural abilities through natural play, student centered education, and a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Our "Why"
Established by two passionate and result driven individuals, Emergent Kids Preschool was developed to be a child care center that genuinely stands out from the rest. With our owners having experience in a variety of education fields, EKP was established after seeing the demand for a center which focuses on individual student learning and development methods. Each child develops differently, and their needs change day to day. With this in mind, our teachers and staff have been trained to observe each child while in their element to recognize not only the standard development milestones, but also how our teachers can alter their delivery methods to meet the learning methods of each individual child.
Our Classrooms
The classroom spaces at EKP are set up and designed to promote greater curiosity by eliminating distractions, providing access to open-ended materials, and fostering collaboration. Our cozy, home-like classrooms feature natural light, plants, and earth tones with plenty of access to “loose parts,” or materials, that urge creativity, stimulate imagination, and allow for flexible creations rather than prescribed end products. These items include feathers, sea shells, cork, nuts and bolts, pebbles, beans, leaves, sticks, bark, flowers—the possibilities are endless. Using natural materials in and out of the classroom offers students a variety of educational benefits.
Materials can be used with no formal agenda or set out with an intention to pattern, count, sort, weigh or tell a fantastic story. As children are more exposed to these types of materials and have time to study them, they will naturally ask questions and the learning begins. The goal is always to promote discovery and inquiry, to increase observational acuity and to create a connection to the natural world.
Their Future
We believe in the science, and we use that to guide children. Children play to figure out how things work and build from basic foundations. This is much like how scientists perform experiments and investigate in order to draw conclusions. Children will use the world around them through play and exploration to build knowledge.
Children will graduate Emergent Kids Preschool programs with the skills they need to succeed in private or public school systems as well as home school based learning. Our individual and student-centered instructional methods encourages graduates to grow to be enthusiastic learners who are socially and academically ready for the years ahead.
Our Future
Emergent Kids Preschool is in its first stage of development: With a smaller group of learners at half capacity, each child has the unique opportunity to receive a more personalized education as they take on their early years. Although seats are limited, EKP will keep an active waiting list as families await the exciting next steps of our second stage of development.
In the second stage of our development, EKP will expand our enrollment and reach full capacity. We will take students off the waiting list until we have reached full enrollment. Additionally, our future Homeschool Enrichment Program is in the works for homeschool students ages 6-10
In the third stage, EKP will expand our horizons by adding additional locations throughout Florida. This will provide the opportunities to students and staff alike to set a strong foundation for their future no matter the location!
Our Community
Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to for pick-up, drop-off, or to stop in for a visit.
Emergent Kids Preschool hosts many community events throughout the year such as family events and parties, park or beach meet ups, kids yoga, educational events/trainings, community sports, and more!

Our Pets
At our preschool, we believe that animals bring joy, comfort, and valuable learning experiences to children. Our campus is proud to be pet-friendly, starting with our beloved school cockatiel, Elvis, who brings smiles and comfort to the kids (and teachers) each day. We also enjoy visits from Bow, a teacher’s friendly dog, and have exciting plans to welcome more animals in the future including chickens, ducks, and even goats!
You say sometimes see family dogs during pickup times. This is a special part of our day that enhances our community’s spirit. For everyone’s safety, all visiting dogs must remain on a leash, be friendly, and be up to date on vaccinations.
Animals are a special part of our learning environment, helping children develop empathy, responsibility, and connection and we’re thrilled to share that with our families!
Health & Safety
At Emergent Kids, we make your child’s health and safety our top priority. Our standards are the highest in the industry, meeting or exceeding all local and state guidelines.
We also use 95% natural cleaning products to ensure that no harsh chemicals or toxins are absorbed into the children’s toys and supplies. Bleach water solution and mop cleaning solution chemicals used as required by the Florida Department of Health.
Our center has developed detailed strategies for cleaning and security including:
- Well planned spaces with rounded corners and soft surfaces
- Secure areas that keep children constantly within sight
- Electronic front-desk check-in to ensure security
